We often get requests for donations for projects or fundraisers. We do what we can but a few weeks ago we got one we just couldn’t turn down.

A young man from Roberts Elementary asked if we could donate some supplies for the buddy bench they were building. He went on to explain that, “The buddy bench is for when a kid doesn’t have anyone to play with, they go sit on the buddy bench and when someone sits with them, they are buddies.” I don’t know if I’ve ever been happier to donate anything.

So, here’s to all those brave enough to sit on the buddy bench, all those kind enough to join them, and all the buddies out there who haven’t found each other yet.
